OPC Purchases PCSA Assets
& Announces Updated Education Program
On May 15, 2012, Outstanding Pet Care purchased the Pet Care Services Association (formerly American Boarding Kennel Association) assets from the Colorado bankruptcy court. We look back upon the end of this important organization with humble reverence. However, we look forward to the future and the continued growth opportunities available to pet care facility operators. This industry is filled with passionate people dedicated to the exceptional care of pets. As strong PCSA/ABKA supporters, we respect and appreciate the often selfless commitment of its founders, leaders, and members.
So with great enthusiasm, we announce our plans to update and revitalize the educational mission of the association to benefit its previous members.
Why Outstanding Pet Care?
You might recall, in September 2010, Outstanding Pet Care responded to PSCA’s last minute request to host one of the most successful expos in years. We have also distinguished ourselves over the years by helping hundreds of pet care facilities experience phenomenal and unprecedented growth in revenues and profits. We achieve this through a structured, comprehensive, and proven marketing and customer driven program. Our program also includes numerous national educational and networking meetings enjoyed by our clients. With these systems and business structure in place it seems a natural progression to expand our educational offerings.
We’re also excited to announce our partnership with Walt & Joanne Morris of Morris Pet Care Consulting. Walter was a Charter Member of ABKA and remains passionately committed to the industry and to the former association’s ideals, goals, and values. His guidance, in partnership with similarly minded industry leaders, has helped foster the industry we know today.
How does this affect you, the pet care facility owner?
As you are aware, the pet care industry is under relentless attack—seemingly from all angles. Increased competition from pet sitters and large national chains combined with the drop in travel has already taken a serious bite out of the industry. And the powerful resources amassed by Rover.com and Dogvacay.com might represent the most significant threat yet. These groups are targeting you with very negative statements about pet care facilities, by asserting they are “a community where you can have your dogs boarded in real home settings, not caged in a kennel.” Furthermore, impending legislation changes make the need for training, standards, and quality control absolutely essential to survive in these economic times. There has never been a greater need for a strong central source of education, training and support.
The industry needs a strong, united voice to thrive and triumph over these threats to our businesses. Outstanding Pet Care is ready to do our part and remains dedicated to Protecting and Growing the Pet Care Industry through World-Class Training and Education. Our programs will not only be updated and offered in a technically advanced format they will help to:
- Protect You, Your Staff, and Your Bottom Line
- Reduce Potential Injuries to Your Staff & Guests
- Save Time and Energy
- Increase Health and Happiness of the Pets in Your Care
- Increase Quality Control
- Increase Profits
How are we different than PCSA?
We are dedicated to pet care facilities and believe that pets are best cared for with the resources, systems and expertise offered by them. We are seriously concerned about the impact of pet checkers & sitters on both pets and pet care facility owners.
Therefore, we will combine the best cumulative knowledge of the former PCSA programs, with the invaluable expertise of Morris Consulting and other leading industry experts to create the most accessible, comprehensive and valuable training and education available. This, along with our 22 years of helping companies thrive in increasingly competitive markets, will gives us the advantage required to be successful in this new world.
We look forward to helping you deliver exceptional pet care and to providing the essential resources you will need to successfully navigate this challenging and competitive environment.
